Awesome Property

RK 511 was a great unit to rent. The views were just as good or better then the photo's on the website. The unit had great amenities, great location and great customer service.
The unit was just steps from Dollies (great pizza), Beach House Grill, shop and Maui Brewing Company.
We were a 10 minute ride to LaHaina and the Safeway food market.
There was also a nice beach just outside the unit. We would definitely reccomend renting this unit.

Wonderful Time !

Absoulutely Fabulous! Best view ever, the sounds of the ocean were outstanding! The building was quiet, no noisy neighbors, we could enjoy the deck anytime of day or night. Everything was just as pictured or described. Can't wait to return !

Oceanfront Incredible Views

Incredible 270 degree ocean view from the deck and 20 feet from the breaking waves. You would need to be on a boat to stay any closer to the ocean. I would have been content spending the entire vacation on the deck watching the whales, turtles, monk seals and sailboats go by. The Condo is well appointed and in good shape, with comfortable furniture, fully appointed kitchen, bluetooth sony speaker, 3 big screen tvs, beach towels, beach chairs and a variety of beach toys. As for the property, a few things to note: (1) the property is so close to the water that the waves are kept off the lawn with sandbags, so you have to walk out in front of the property next door (only about 50 yards) to go the beach (and it is rocky once you are about 10 feet out in the water so bring water shoes), (2) snorkeling in front of the property is not good (you will have to drive about 2 miles to get to a good spot), and (3) the condo location, Kahana, even though only 5 miles from Kaanapali, has significantly different weather and ocean conditions--it was calm and warm down in Kaanapali every day we were here, but windy and wavy every day out in front of the Condo. However, unlike Kaanapali, there were only a handful of people on the beach and at the pool every day, so the experience felt very private as compared to a Kaanapali hotel pool and beach experience. The property is also within walking distance of several restaurants and a full grocery store is a short drive away.
I spoke to the property management staff (not located onsite) on the telephone on several occasions and they were extremely professional, responsive, and helpful with local information. This was a very good rental experience. My only critical comment is one common to many VRBO rentals--by the time VRBO, Owner and Cleaning fees and taxes were added, my total nightly rate was 64% higher than the advertised per night rate--so before you book make sure you are aware of these significant extra costs.

It is quite different than Kaanapali, but definitely less busy. As far as the booking fees, when booking through a 3rd party site, they unfortunately, can charge a lot of fees. We do not have control over those booking fees, as they are set by the site you book from. We hope to have you back again!!

Amazing views

We had an incredible stay at #511 Royal Kahana. The property was well appointed for 4 adults. Comfortable furniture, a big TV laundry and a dishwasher. It had everything we needed in the kitchen as well as beach chairs, umbrella, beach bags and coolers for adventures. We didn't neeed them but also had a pack and play and stroller for littles.
The views from the lanai were amazing with whale sightings and turtles swimming just below us. We had great views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai and incredible sunsets.
I am so happy to hear you all had such a great time! The view of the whales is indescribable, thrilled you were able to experience this. We hope you come back soon!!

Amazing! 2 Adults/3 Kids

The description and photos of the property match reality - even the coloring of the water (I thought that was maybe a filter...nope!). We had everything we needed and the condo was clean and everything worked as it should. Due to recent storms, the air conditioning in the building was not working, however, the property managers reached out to see if we needed fans and promptly delivered them. We were able to leave windows/doors open to allow for air flow, so it really wasn't bad at all. The only other time I had contact with the property managers were to ask for additional beach towels, and they had them delivered in minutes. We used the grills at the facility, and they also had a ping pong table and outdoor games. We were able to see sea turtles, whales, and dolphins from our deck - which was amazing. Convenience stores, gear rental, and restaurants were within walking distance and so convenient. The beaches nearby were wonderful and we really enjoyed the "Whaler's Village" mall and beaches which is about 15 minutes away. The only thing I would say that was a little frustrating for us and others we spoke to was the fact that they weren't heating the pool. It was freezing and my kids didn't really want to swim in it. The ocean was way warmer, but at times it would have been nice to sit by the pool. Some of the people who are there year after year said that typically it is heated, but they seem to be trying to save money. I hope that isn't the case since they were probably saving a lot of money by not having to air condition the place for over a month. I'm not sure if this was related to the pool not being heat, but the majority of the time, our showers weren't warm even when turned all the way to the hottest setting. This was early morning (like 6 a.m. to late at night - as late as 10 p.m.). But Other than those two things that I don't think the property managers have any say over, I would HIGHLY recommend this condo and facility.

We strive to make every visit perfect for our guests, the chiller being down is unfortunate, but we have found with the fans and wonderful ocean breeze, our guests have been happy, We hope you come back soon!

Great views!

Great condo close to everything! But the views are what really sold us on this place and they didn't disappoint. They were AMAZING! The beds and pillows were all comfy too which is always a plus. Nicely updated.

Best Maui Stay Yet!

The Kahana area is quieter than Kihei, but with Lahaina so close by, you’ll have what you need. The condo is bright, airy and the view is stunning. Comfy beds, excellent response from the agency when we needed things. Note that the beach area here is eroding and there are sandbags making the beach immediately in front inaccessible, but just 50 ft away is the entire Kahana beach. Great for swimming, lounging and turtle watching. Grab a bite or drink at the adjacent Beach House restaurant or Maui Brewing. We would definitely come back!

The room with a view

Covid delayed are stay by a full year, but are stay at the Royal Kahana was worth the wait! The wrap around lani was awesome. We saw turtles and dolphins from this great location. The large screen tv was amazing, we watched animal planet and music videos, while playing family games. We charted a fishing boat out of Lahina, and caught some fish. There was plenty of cooking accessories, and spices, to make a great fish dinner. They even provided storage containers to store the leftovers. I think the only complaint would be the washer dryer., it is one machine does both. You have to do very small loads to complete a wash/dry cycle. we never did figure out how to just add time to the dryer, when we tried it started a wash cycle on us. Overall our stay was 5 star. Great location with stores and restaurants within walking distance. We will be back! Mahalo

Fantastic view!

We loved staying here- very comfortable beds with blackout drapes, very nice decor, but the view of the ocean was the best- whales easily viewed- bring your binoculars! We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas.

Nice Place, great view!!

Spent two weeks in this beautiful apartment watching the sunsets, the waves, the whales and the surfers. Well appointed and furnished, easy to get to and from and great support from the management company whenever a question arose. About 10-15 minutes from anywhere except the quick trip and the great coffee place across the road.
