Question 1

Is early check-in or late check-out permitted?

Accepted Answer

Early Check-In is available upon request prior to your arrival date, subject to unit availability. Late Check-Out is available only if your rental unit is not booked back-to-back. If open, an 11:00 AM check-out is offered entirely free as a grace hour. Guests wishing to extend their departure further can stay until 8:00 PM for an additional fee of half a day’s rent plus tax

Question 2

What are the check-in procedures for Epic Realty condo rentals in West Maui?

Accepted Answer

Your specific check-in procedure depends entirely on your resort or condo complex.

Front Desk Units: Some properties require checking in at the physical front desk to retrieve your keys, obtain parking passes, and pay applicable building fees.
Direct Entry Units: Other units feature keyless entry and will be provided a secure door code prior to arrival for immediate access.
Hybrid Entry: Certain complexes provide a digital door code for room entry but still require a quick stop at the front desk to secure a vehicle parking pass.

Question 3

Can we check in later than 4:00 PM if we have a late flight into Maui?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Guests are welcome to arrive and check in at any time after our standard 4:00 PM check-in window opens. If your designated complex requires a front desk check-in and it is closed upon your late arrival, simply access your unit and register with the front desk first thing the following morning.

Question 4

How do we operate the TV in our vacation condo?

Accepted Answer

While some systems vary across our 60+ Maui properties, the general guideline is to utilize the provided Spectrum remote:

Press the TV button, then press Power.
Press the Cable button, then press Power.
Ensure your television set is toggled to the correct HDMI input source detailed in your arrival confirmation email. *(Most general instructions; some TVs differ).*

Question 5

Are laundry facilities and detergents available inside the unit?

Accepted Answer

In-Unit Laundry: Many of our West Maui resort and condo rentals feature a private washer and dryer inside the condo unit. Complimentary laundry soap is always included in your Welcome Starter Kit.
On-Site Laundry: For properties without in-unit machines, central on-site laundry facilities are available (exact complex locations are detailed in your arrival emails). Laundry soap from your starter kit can be used here as well.

Question 6

Where can we find bath towels and beach towels?

Accepted Answer

Standard bath towels are neatly set out in the bathrooms, with extra stock placed in the cabinets or adjacent closets. Beach Towels are striped towels that are typically left by the cleaners directly on the beds, with extra sets located in the closets.

Question 7

Where do guests obtain their vehicle parking passes?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the specific property rules, vehicle parking passes will either be left directly inside your rental unit for you upon arrival or must be picked up from the resort’s front desk during registration.

Question 8

Are the resort pools heated, and is there a jacuzzi/spa on-site?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Depending on the resort or condo complex you choose (such as Kapalua Bay Villas, Residences at Napili Bay, Napili Shores, Napili Point, or Sands of Kahana), heated pools and relaxing spas/jacuzzis are available for guest use. Select family-friendly properties across Kaʻanapali, Kahana, and Napili also feature dedicated kiddie pools.

Question 9

Are there resort fees separate from Epic Realty’s rental fees?

Accepted Answer

Yes, certain properties charge an independent resort or amenity fee. These resort fees are not collected by Epic Realty and must be paid directly to the resort complex building upon desk check-in (if applicable to that location).

Question 10

Do the vacation properties have stairs or elevators?

Accepted Answer

Every property configuration across our portfolio is unique. Some multi-story resort complexes feature both stairs and elevator access, while smaller or lower-density condo buildings may utilize stairs exclusively. Please review individual property descriptions or contact our office if elevator access is a necessity for your stay.

Question 12

What are the rules for seasonal whale watching in Maui?

Accepted Answer

If your West Maui vacation falls between November and May, you will witness Maui’s spectacular humpback whale migration right off the coast of Kaʻanapali and Kapalua. Because whales are a federally protected species, strict ocean laws apply to all swimmers, kayakers, paddleboarders, and boaters:

The 100-Yard Rule: It is strictly illegal to approach within 100 yards of a humpback whale under state and federal law.
Drone Restrictions: Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) must safely maintain a minimum vertical distance of 1,000 feet from all marine mammals.

Question 13

What should non-residents know about beach parking and “Park Maui” regulations?

Accepted Answer

Paid Digital Lots: To protect local beach access, Maui County utilizes digital parking management. Popular locations (such as the public access lot at Kapalua Bay) require non-residents to pay via on-site QR codes, with fees reaching up to $29 per day. Always scan and review posted lot signs carefully.
Honoapiʻilani Highway Parking: When utilizing dirt roadside cutouts near popular West Maui beaches, your entire vehicle—including your tires—must remain completely clear of the white line and paved asphalt. Vehicles touching the paved surface are rapidly ticketed or towed by local enforcement.

Question 14

What are Hawaii’s local environmental and beach laws?

Accepted Answer

Mineral-Only Sunscreen Law: Hawaii law strictly bans all chemical sunscreens to prevent coral reef bleaching. Only mineral-based sunscreens utilizing Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide as the sole active ingredients are legally permitted. Please buy reef-safe formulas before heading into the water.
Alcohol, Smoking, and Vaping Bans: Consuming alcoholic beverages, smoking cigarettes, or using vape products is completely prohibited at all Maui County public parks and public beaches.
Wildlife Protection: Always keep a respectful distance from local Honu (sea turtles) and Hawaiian monk seals basking on the shoreline. Intentionally approaching, crowding, or touching these animals carries heavy federal criminal penalties.
