Dining in West Maui
If you are visiting Maui for the first time, you are in for a gastronomical treat! Maui has an incredible food scene that offers something delicious for everyone. The ever-growing number of top-rated restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, cafes, and gourmet coffee shops are astounding. With so many great choices, we are happy to provide you with a few options in the West Maui area, centered around Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahana, Napili, and vicinity.

HONU Seafood and Pizza is one of the best restaurants in Lahaina. HONU is a quintessential seafood eatery which has a fully unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean and is situated approximately 10 feet from the water’s edge. Everything is good here!
We highly recommend the fresh Ahi Bruschetta, Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese, Rock Shrimp Mojo Verde Pizza and HONU’s famous Raspberry Lilikoi Tart! DOWN THE HATCH – A Place to Eat Fish is a must-try casual, outdoor seafood restaurant in Old Town Lahaina. This place is so good, it was featured on the Guy Fieri’s Food Network show Diner’s, Drive-In’s, and Dives in 2017. Now serving breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, & late night food, Down the Hatch, has some of the best seafood around, featuring locally sourced fresh fish. The restaurant prides itself on their Fish n’ Chips, Mahi Mahi Tacos, and Ahi dishes. They add a special flair of Southern Aloha with their Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp Po’Boy’s as well as offer a variety of Hawaiian Island favorites like Local Style Plates, Lobster & Crab Grilled Cheese, Calamari and more!

Gazebo Restaurant is renown for its banana macadamia nut pancakes, omelets, fried rice plates, sandwiches, salads, burgers and more! The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. It is a great place to spend the morning or early afternoon with family while enjoying the tropical backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Come early if you can! There is almost always a line to get in. Don’t forget to bring your camera and your appetite to this popular local hangout.

HAWAIIAN VILLAGE COFFEE

HAWAIIAN VILLAGE COFFEE in Kahana is the place to go for great coffee, incredible bagel sandwiches, fresh donuts, pastries, healthy snacks and more! This chic coffee shop is a local favorite. People flock here for the fresh veggie and lox bagel sandwiches! The pastries are outstanding and the coffee (no matter how you order it) is always freshly brewed and served with aloha!
DUKE’S BEACH HOUSE honors renowned waterman and Hawaii’s most famous son, Duke Kahanamoku. He was an Olympic swimmer and the father of modern-day surfing, but he may be best known for sharing his genuine spirit of Aloha. Here just steps from the sand, you are treated to sweeping views of the Pacific framed by the islands of Molokai and Lanai along with a casual, nostalgic ambiance and a glimpse into the life of our namesake, Duke.
Located on the beach in Kaanapali, DUKE’S MAUI serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has a great “Aloha Hour.” The hand-crafted cocktails are always on point! Duke’s has a great selection of beer and wine and offers a variety of tasty appetizers to pair alongside. Whether you are in the mood for Korean Sticky Ribs, Fish Tacos, a juicy steak or fresh grilled fish, DUKE’S Maui has it all! The Banana-Leaf Steamed Island Fish & Shrimp with sake ginger sauce, sizzling sesame oil, coconut milk steamed bamboo rice, black bean bok choy and mushrooms is to die for! And don’t forget to order the famous Hula Pie made famous by Duke’s. You will not be disappointed!
DOLLIE’S PUB & CAFE has been voted the best pizza on Maui! Established in 1983, Dollie’s is where the local’s hang out to get fresh, hand-pressed pizza, throw back a few drinks and watch the game! With 15 TV’s, including two big-screen plasma TV’s, two happy hours every day, and a satellite dish you can watch the game of your choice! This fun, casual pub has a little of everything from pizza, pasta, and salads, to nachos, quesadillas, and baby back ribs! The prices are great and the people are friendly. Dollie’s offers delivery service to the local area for those who wish to stay in.
